Ronald McDonald Golf Tournament

In June 2005, area alumnae and collegians join at Blue Hills Golf and Country Club to raise money for Ronald McDonald Houses of Kansas City. Be sure to join us next year...June 2006...Watch for email updates!

Tons of Tabs Pop Tab Campaign

In our third year of sponsorship, the Tons of Tabs Pop Tab Collection Campaign saw 36 schools (26 schools last year) around Johnson County participate. In early May 2005, we, along with Ronald McDonald himself, visited all 36 schools to pick up the poptabs to turn into recycle. This year, we collected 3,172 lbs of tabs for a total of $1744.60 at recycle. With the generous donations of our two current sponsors, Valley View Bank ($1000) and Wabash Recycling ($436), our grand total from this year’s campaign was $3180.60. This money went straight to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City to help with operating expenses. Thank you, Sara Goodburn, for all of your hard work.

Each year the campaign continues to grow!  We would love to have more volunteers to assist and/or to help us recruit new schools.  If you are interested, contact Sara Goodburn at sadigo@sbcglobal.net.

Alumnae Initiate Program

The Alumnae Initiate Program is an excellent opportunity to strengthen our sisterhood by recruiting new members who could support local chapters, house corporations, and alumnae associations. Alumnae Initiates may be recommended by any of the following: a chapter, an association, or if neither a chapter nor alumnae association exist, by three alumnae in good standing. There are many women who are excellent candidates for membership, from friends and relatives to professional colleagues, community leaders and volunteers. The requirements for membership are as follows:

bullet

Never initiated into any NPC group

bullet

Prior attendance at a college or university; however, graduation is not a requirement

bullet

Typically age 25 or older and no longer enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university

bullet

Must demonstrate an interest in supporting college women and has given service in community affairs

bullet

Must desire to PROACTIVELY support a collegiate chapter or alumnae association

These women will be initiated as a member of the Omega Alpha Chapter of ADPi with all the rights, responsibilities and privileges of all initiated members of our sorority. She may serve as an advisor, an alumnae association officer, a house corporation board member, and/or as an international officer. She will also enjoy opportunities for personal and professional development including leadership roles, venues for philanthropic participation, networking and social interaction. If you would like more information, please contact Kay Hamilton or Sara Goodburn .
