Embracing The Past-Building the Future
Philanthropy (fi•lan´thr
•pē) n. 1.
Effort to promote the happiness or social elevation of mankind; desire,
effort, or beneficence, as by making donations, intended to mitigate
social evils and increase social comfort; comprehensive benevolence, but
often specific in its objects; literally, love of man.
At the home of Vicki Mathews Lilly, 4209 West 104th Terrace, Overland Park,
Kansas
We need you!
Please join us for a heartwarming evening as we explore ADPi’s
history with the Ronald McDonald House Charities both nationally and
locally and explore our chance to continue to help build another house
into a “Home Away From Home”. Dianne
Eidson, RMH-KC Volunteer Director, and Anne Dykes, Development Director,
and Anne Jerome, Executive Director, will share with us how we can help
lift the hearts of kids and families from the hurt of today to the hope of
tomorrow.

“Self-Defense:
T.A.K.E. Foundation Seminar”
Lawrence, Kansas
Exact Location will be communicated
via E-vite and at www.gkcadpi.org
Don’t miss this class! We will be joining the chapter
members from the University of Kansas, Tau Chapter, to participate in this
educational fundraiser. This
program represents a living legacy in honor of Ali Kemp, a 19 year old
Leawood resident, who was murdered while working as a lifeguard at a
residential subdivision pool in the summer of 2002.
Ali’s mother, Kathy Bower Kemp, is an Alpha Delta Pi from
Southwest Missouri State, Gamma Mu Chapter.
The goal of this program is to raise awareness and to give women,
young and old, the self-protection skills they need to avoid becoming the
victims of violent crimes. Participants
will learn basic techniques for thwarting an attack, which could save
their lives. This program is
being presented by The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation (T.A.K.E.
Foundation).
Financial donation will be collected for
The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation
